This seres of paintings depicts my love of the local bush sunsets. The sunset is historically seen as quintessentially Australian. In 1904 the artist Hans Heysen once said "we are a people of sunshine and shadow". I chosen to paint with dramatic bright colours to accentuate the beauty of each sunset and capture the bright sometimes eerie light.
